                                                        Sports Day!!

A great day was had by both teachers and staff at our Annual First Years Sports Day.
A lot of time and effort went into organising the event, being expertly coordinated by Mr Fennell and the teaching staff at St Mary’s.

On a glorious summer day, all first year students attended the event held in the grounds of our neighbouring school, St Laurence’s.

Students proved themselves to be excellent participants in a wide ranging number of events. Events involved included the 100 metres, 400 metres, 400 metres relay, dart throwing, penalty shootout, egg and spoon race, tug of war and of course the three legged race! Ms Morrin also lended her unique expertise to the potato picking competition…

Winning participants were awarded medals by Principal Ms Greene at the closing of the day. However, as the Principal remarked, everyone who got involved was a success; - even those teachers who bravely got involved in the three legged race!

It was also wonderful to see the primary students from St Laurence’s attend, and get involved in some fun events themselves.

Below are some pictures of our great day out. Hopefully the sun will shine as bright next year!
