                                                       FUTSAL CRAZY!!

Huge congratulations are due to our Futsal squad who stormed to victory in the Fingal Girls Tournament at the National Sports Arena on the 24t h of October.

Coached by Mr Bowler and Mr Burke, the girls had to play six games under Futsal rules. Futsal is slightly different from usual soccer in a number of ways. It is played indoors with a slightly heavier ball, ensuring the emphasis is on passing and shooting. Each team is allowed five players at any one time with 'rolling' substitutions.

The coaches were thrilled to see the girls go undefeated through the whole six game programme, winning five games and drawing one.

The panel now go through to the Dublin Final, representing Fingal. Well done to all involved!

Our sports year is up and running with a bang at St Mary's for the 2017/18 season.
Already we have a lot to report on!

Transition Years have begun training to receive their line judge accreditation for the prestigious Irish Open Badminton Tournament, to be held in the National Sports Campus in Blanchardstown in December.

Our first Year Futsal Team enjoyed a fantastic day out on the 24th of  October during their trip to the National Sports Campus, when they won the Fingal Girls' Futsal Tournament.
They now go on to represent Fingal in the Dublin tournament.

Our Basketball season is in progress, and we wish the very best of luck to our teams at First Year, Second Year, Under 16 and Senior level.

Our Gaelic Footballers had a very narrow loss recently, but it was great to see so many girls involved.
It's also fantastic to see Athletics being revived in the school.

So, well done to all students and staff involved on the sporting front, and we look forward to keeping you posted on our site here and on our twitter page with all the sporting news!
